We could not have imagined two more creative and sharing artists to help us celebrate our 25th Anniversary in May 2009, than Kaffe Fassett and Brandon Mably. It will be like having Rock Stars in our midst! We are so pleased to be able to host them, here in Grand Rapids, again, for two days of workshops and a lecture.
Kaffe Fassett single-handedly changed the focus of how knitters and needlepointers use color, by encouraging the use of lots of color and inspiring fiber artists to find their color inspiration in objects around them. Kaffe Fassett has attracted many fans worldwide to knitting, needlepoint, patchwork, painting and mosaic. A best selling author, Kaffe has hosted his own TV series "Glorious Color" and was the first ever living artist to have a one man show at the Victoria and Albert Museum in London. Kaffe also designs wallpapers for the Designer Guild, patchwork fabrics for Rowan and Westminster Fibres, and interior accessories for Pine Cone Hill. Among the 24 published books to date are titles such as Kaffe Knits Again, Passionate Patchwork, Mosaic, and Kaffe's Pattern Library. You can also see his website by clicking here: kaffefassett.com
Brandon Mably has proven himself to be a talented designer as well as an excellent teacher. He's written several books, including Brilliant Knits. Brandon Mably designs knitwear patterns for Vogue Knitting and Rowan Yarns, and leads workshops in knitwear design and use of color throughout the world. For over a decade, Brandon has been the Studio Manager of Kaffe Fassett Studio in London England, and has worked closely with Kaffe in the design, creation, and execution of knitwear, tapestry, patchwork, mosaic, and mixed media artwork. While working side by side with Kaffe, Brandon has honed his unique style of bold design and vibrant color.
